Thread: Wireless Direct timeout connecting...

  1. Wireless Direct timeout connecting...
Hi - trying to get Wireless Direct (WD) working from a Windows10 laptop, but it times-out on making the connection

    1. Select WD from the Sources menu
    2. Click image for larger version.

    3. On the PC:Settings>Devices the TV is Visible
    4. Click image for larger version.

    5. So selecting this device on the PC, the TV display changes to display a Pin code (so at this point they appear to be communicating)
    6. The PC now shows a text box to enter this Pin
    7. Click image for larger version.

    8. However at this stage the PC just sticks at "Connecting" - the TV Pin code screen eventually times out so no connection is made
    9. Click image for larger version.

    Any ideas...?

BTW - the TV above is a Toshiba 43U6763DB model

  3. Re: Wireless Direct timeout connecting...
Apparently this is due to Miracast not my being supported on my (old) W10 Laptop

Ran dxdiag and saved the report as text file, which showed.....

    Miracast: Not Available
Miracast: Not Supported by Graphics driver

Similarly on my (new) Motorola G5 phone running Android 7.0, Google or Lenovo have disabled Miracast casting (theory on the street is this is so people have to use Google's Chromecast)

Luckily my Nexus-7(2013) running Android 6.0.1 does support Miracast

    Hello Support-Team,

I have the same kind of issue with my TV: 32W3763DA. Miracast works fine with my BlackBerry 10 devices but crashes after 1 minute or so. I tested it with 3 different devices - everytime the same Problem. What can I do about it?
