My father has purchased the a Toshiba TV 43U6663DB

With the TV on, once you switch on a device (Freeview Recorder)

using Scart source) it auto overides the TV, once in standby it goes back to TV.

THe same device using HDMI1 (with the scart unplugged) it doesn't auto overide the TV.

You can select HDMI1 with the remote, this stays on HDMI1, to go back to TV you have to re source to TV.
This is complicated for my father (79 Y old)

I have tried to get the HDMI1 to overide the TV once the the recorder is on, I have enable CEC but it won't auto overide.
I have setup recording on the TV (using USB) for him, however only having one tuner, he can't watch one and record another, hence the freeview recorder.

Is it possible to set the HDM!1 source to overide the TV, on power up and back to the TV on power down, This is acheivable using scart but I am sure you can't watch HD programs via scart.

    Hi John,

Have you set the CEC Auto power on option in the settings to enabled?
