  1. Satellite L775-11N - Uprgade Windows 10 - FN key problem

hi all, i have a Toshiba Satellite L775-11N and after upgrade to windows 10, the fn key is always active. I must press fn key and SPACE to make a space in text. It's a big prob !

I already go to the bios (no option for fn key), update all drivers, nothing works.

    Thanks for your help.

I have the same issue, i've tried everything, it's my bf's laptop, and he's getting pissed with me. It definitely was windows 10 that was the cause of it. I know has something to do with windows 10 making those fn functions the default so you have to use fn to press the regular keys you want, but with things like the space bar and characters 1 2 3 and 4 having fn options, it's seriously cumbersome and troubling, please do something toshiba....

I have seen a dedicated Toshiba page for drivers for Windows 10. Have you looked into this and tried to install the relevant drivers?

I cannot complete the upgrade due to an intel engine management interface error that I cannot resolve, so consider yourself lucky you can actually install it lol.

    I had a similar problem with my L500 .
By using the FN button no reaction .
Installation of the Value Added Package ( Version 1.2.26_64 ) has helped .

    greetings

    Hola:

    Yo tengo el mismo problema.

Según he visto en la web de Toshiba, los Satellite L-775 no son compatibles con Windows 10. Es esto cierto??. Se va a corregir esto??.

    S.O.S.

    Un abrazo

Toshiba, you're going to solve the problem? People can not use Windows 10 on your laptop !!!

The Toshiba System Driver adds support for the FN keys, but your notebook must be in the compatible list on the Toshiba website.

So either go back to Win7/8 or use Win10 without the Fn keys,

I would love to disable the FN, if you tell me how to do it. Again, after an update on windows 10 to press 1,2,3,4,5 or space, I have to pinch press FN!

Usually within the BIOS you can switch the Toshiba special function key mode ON and OFF.
Please check if you will be able to modify this settings in BIOS

SOLVED - for me anyway but worth a try.

Go into device manager & uninstall the pointing device - for me it was a Lenovo pointing device!.

Restart Windows & ALL the keys now work as they should.

I hope this is the universal solution for everyone!!

Surely Toshiba supports their products properly and updates software that is broken by updates to the underlying Windows OS. I have a Tecra A11 that with windows 10 not longer has a working fingerprint scanner or function key utilities. I expected better and longer support from Toshiba that this.

    Hello

I've created this account only to said THANK YOU for this solution. It was a very big problem for me to use the keyboard with "inverted" FN-key. It is the only solution that works. Thank you so much. I had been looking for sth like this for nearly month.

    I have a Toshiba Satellite L770-118.

    Have a nice day.
