    If your BIOS is already up to date, you don’t need the BIOS update.

    and you can use only the BIOS which is available on the Toshiba download page

    BIOS Version from Keyboard-Extension isn#t uptodate!

    The Flashutility checks only the Tablat and not the Keyboardextension ....

    Well, here is the Solution (only at your own risk!):

    - unpack bios-20150528104847.zip file
    - unpack BIOS_V170_WIN.exe
    - in folder Dejima10_BIOS_V170_WIN\x86 change in file platform.ini the following in section "Bios_Version_Check":

    Flag=1 in Flag=0
    Old
    [Bios_Version_Check]
    Flag=1
    CheckByBios=0
    CheckByBiosErrorMessage="This BIOS file is not allow to flash. The flash process will be terminated."
    ;This flag is the switch of checking BIOS version.
    ;Flag (dwsDWS)
    ; default : 2.
    ; 0 : Don't check rom file version.
    ; 1 : Check BIOS version.
    ; When rom file version is older then BIOS, it will display
    ; a warning message and close application.
    ; 2 : Depend on BIOS report.
    ;CheckByBios (dwsDWS)
    ; default : 0.
    ; 0 : Normal process.
    ; 1 : It will pass version by IHISI to BIOS and check by BIOS.
    ; When BIOS return not allow to flash, it will be terminated the process.
    ; When BIOS allow to flash, it will go ahead and do it's normal process.
    ; When this flag is enable but BIOS not support, it will skip version check and assume allow to flash.
    ;CheckByBiosErrorMessage (dwsDWS)
    ; default : "This BIOS file is not allow to flash. The flash process will be terminated."
    ; String : User defined error message when BIOS is not allow to flash this version image.
    New
    [Bios_Version_Check]
    Flag=0
    CheckByBios=0
    CheckByBiosErrorMessage="This BIOS file is not allow to flash. The flash process will be terminated."
    ;This flag is the switch of checking BIOS version.

    ; default : 2.

    ;CheckByBiosErrorMessage (dwsDWS)
    ; default : "This BIOS file is not allow to flash. The flash process will be terminated."
    ; String : User defined error message when BIOS is not allow to flash this version image.
    - doubleclick on AutoWinPhlash.exe

    The Flashprogram is starting without the BIOS-Versioncheck and you can make an Update.

    Bios from Tablet is 1.70
    Bios from Keyboard is 1.50

    BIOS Version from Keyboard-Extension isn’t up to date!
    The two things have nothing to do with each other… even if the keyboard BIOS version is different, this doesn’t mean that this BIOS is not up to date…

    If the keyboard BIOS would be changed, and if the newer version would be available, the BIOS package which can be downloaded from Toshiba EU driver page would be update to a higher version and you could perform such update without further file modification.

    Hi Jimi,

    let's define a few things:
    There are in the setup (FN Key & Key N (F12) the following version numbers:
    System BIOS Setup
    EC version
    Dock EC Version

    The BIOS Setup of Toshiba sets after updating all the versions on the appropriate version. In the case of the bios-20150528104847.zip version 1.70

    The tablet / laptop shipped with Version 1.50

    Unfortunately, my unit was also affected by the over-discharged battery the Dock. So I wanted to perform the BIOS update.

    The update includes two steps: Update EC Version and Update Dock EC Version.
    Only step one was done. The DOCK remained at version 1.5

    But with the solution above, i have fixed these problem ;-)

    The Solution for the over-discharged dockbattery is:

    - Disconnect dock from tablet
    - open 8 screws of the botten from dock (two screws located under the (back) rubber)
    - diconnect the battery
    - wait
    - connect the battery

    After that, the battery was charged. Previously I had charged over 72 hours.

    The update includes two steps: Update EC Version and Update Dock EC Version.
    This is correct and my thought was the same… performing the BIOS update should update both: tablet and dock BIOS
    So usually in case the BIOS (tablet) is already up to date, the EC dock version should be also up to date...

    Only step one was done. The DOCK remained at version 1.5
    This is strange but anyway… you have already performed the update once again… so great news!
    Thanks for the sharing your experience here in the community.

    Greetings
