I've just got a IDE #0 ERROR on my Toshiba Portege 3020CT. Following that error, Insert System Disk in drive. Press any key when ready....pops up.

Does anyone have an idea about how to solve this?

I am not sure but this error can indicate that there is some problem with HDD. This kind of error occurs also if the unit can not identify CD drive but in this case it will show IDE #1 error.

On this way it is not easy to give you exact answer but I am afraid that your HDD is defective. If you find out what the problem is please let us know.

    Good luck!

I think your IDE controller is loose or damaged! If the HDD is ok the failure can only be at the IDE Controller and this controller is at the mainboard!
Furthermore this massage occurs if both devices HDD and CD/DVD drive are set to master or slave.
I know that the HDD is always set to master and the CD/DVD to slave. But if you use a wrong or not compatible drive the OS gives error.
