Thread: Satellite A500-1H1 - Memory upgrade

As I'm willing to upgrade memory of my notebook, at the moment my notebook has 2x 2GB DDR3 PC3-8500 @ 1066Mhz (at least this is what specification says). I plan to remove them and put inside 2x 4GB, but PC3-10600 @ 1333 Mhz. *Is my plan doable or the 1333Mhz memories won't be compatible with my laptops motherboard?* Problem is, getting 1066Mhz is quite unreal where I live, as they are a quite rare product and most shops offer only 1333Mhz and higher.

Thanks in advance for any answers/suggestions.

According notebook specification your notebook model can be upgraded up to 8 GB.
If you want to have 8GB RAM you can upgrade it with 2 x 4GB. Compatible 4GB RAM for your machine has part number PA3677U-1M4G.

Try to find online store where you can order RAMs with this part number.

Thank you for your suggestion, but it somehow doesn't solve my problem - the mentioned by you RAM with according number and spec is even rarer in Poland than any other 1066Mhz. Sure I can buy it on ebay/amazon, but I'm a bit sceptic about buying electronical equipement without eye contact with it's seller.

Anyway, question stands for my original plan - will 1333Mhz memory module fit and work inside A500-1H1 notebook?

Fact is that Satellite A500-1H1 supports the Intel Core i3-330M CPU and this CPU supports the DDR3-800 1066Mhz RAM modules.
Usually it should be possible to use faster RAM modules like 1333MHz (DDR3-10600) but the speed will be limited to 1066Mhz.
