As the subject already states, my Satellite L650 - 1KR Part No. PSK1JE is totally OFF after BIOS-Update 2.40-WIN from bios-download-page.

I tried everything: Press all buttons, take out the laptop battery, only laptop battery, ...simply nothing!

My last hope is a hidden, very special key sequence for toshiba laptops or something like this.

Of course my warranty is already over... :-(
    Please help!

    Thank you in advance...

Sorry to hear you have such problem now. I presume something went wrong and now the BIOS chip is screwed up and in such situation you need professional help. Toshiba service provider can help you with this but I’m afraid it can be very expensive.

In the past I never had such problems but on the net you can find many pages with description what can be done. Visit this page and check if you can find something useful there. I mean you can try to fix it alone.

    Thank you for your answer!

May you know, if the bios-chip on the mainboard is exchangeable?
And if yes, you may also know the right one to buy?

    Much thanks for your effort!

No, the Rom module is soldered and not removable.
In case the EPROM module has been damaged due to problems while BIOS update procedure, the motherboard needs to be replaced.

But in most cases to solve such issues, the EPROM needs to be flashed using special BIOS crisis disk. This could be done by Toshiba ASP in your country.

I'm in Austria around Graz and I haven't found any Toshiba ASP, who could repair my notebook.
Does anybody know, where I can get support in Austria?

Thank you very much to all of you for helping me out... :-)

Check this “Global Authorized Service Provider” database.
    http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/generic/ASP_SUPPORT/
There you will find the ASP available in Austria
