Do I need to install all these all should I "forget" some of them? (I mean Toshiba software that usually is never used?)

    Thanks a lot,

    Hi

All software parts are not necessary if you don’t want to use some notebook features.
    For example:
TOSHIBA Service Station send you notification about driver updates… if you don’t want to receive such info, don’t install this app
TOSHIBA Face Recognition allows you to login to the system using the webcam… if you don’t want this feature, don’t install ;)

Impornat are the common drivers like
    Infineon TPM Software
    Intel Chipset SW Installation Utility
    Intel Management Engine Interface
    Intel AMT Software
    AMD Display Driver
    TOSHIBA Intelligent Display Management
    Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver
    Realtek Audio Driver
    Intel LAN Driver
    USB3.0 Driver
    ALPS Pointing Device Driver
    Synaptics Touch Pad Driver
    O2Micro Smart Card Reader Driver
    TOSHIBA Value Added Package
    Ricoh Card Reader
    Intel Wireless LAN Driver
    Intel Proset
    TOSHIBA Web Camera Application

    Many thanks Joe!
Yes, I will never use face recognition among others !
But if I do not install it that will not have a bad impact in the laptop? (hope not!)
Or the the other way: if I install all even if I will not plan to use it what the impact in the lap performance?

    paulo

No, this does not affect the notebook functionality…

    Hi,

I forgot to mention that I use a bluetooth mouse!
Do I need to install :
    -Bluetooth Filter Driver Package (Atheros)
    -Bluetooth Stack

    ?

I don’t think you’ve got an Atheros Wlan card.
The notebook supports Intel WLan card so you don’t need the Atheros BT Filter driver package…. You need BT stack .

    Thanks Joe :-)

One more thing: do you think the Eco Utility is necessary or usefull? Would the Windows energy management do the same thing?

About my clean fresh install: I do not have ame installed with my laptop! I have the keyany DVD with the OS (Win7 Pro 64bit) that came with my laptop! I only have the key! Is it possible to have a DVD or any kind od ISO file of my OS?

    Thanks again.

ECO is a nice tool because you can change the mode very easily.
But the similar (but not exactly the same) functionality is provided by internal Windows power management settings which you can find on control panel...

    Hi guys,

Sorry, I do understand that this thread is quite old but I've recently got a Tecra R840 but I'm having issues with the fingerprint sensor. So not sure if I should start a new thread??

Well my issue with the fingerprint sensor - After installing the driver, it still not recognized. So could it be faulty hardware or is it related to the order of driver installation?

If it's the latter, can someone post up an updated order for drivers that I do need for home use.
From what I understand is that this is a business laptops so there are few functionalities that I dont need for common/home usage?

    Thanks
    Gavin

    Hello,

Can any one help me to fix my problem.

As I restored my Tecra R840 to the factory setting, and then i tried to resize the C:\> Drive and crate the other partition for the data storage. mean while I didn't observed the notifications and clicked next-yes ok-finished successfully created the D:\> Drive to store my data.

But I noticed that all my drives volumes converted to dynamic from the basic and not able to use the restore factory settings again as its not able to recognized the recovery partition.

Note: I also didn't create the recovery disks for my Toshiba Tecra R840.

    I have Win-7 Pro 64-Bit OS.

Your quick responce with the solution will be appreciated.

    Thanks & Regards,
    M. Habeeb.
