So this morning after trying to power up my Toshiba Satellite C660/C660D I was met with a black screen.

The power lights both work and light up, the fans whirl when I power up but nothing ever comes up on the screen, I was wondering if anyone could help here?

It's less than 3 months old.

To be honest I really don’t know how to help you.
Remove battery, leave notebook for a while and try to start notebook with AC power supply only. Try to do it several times with and without battery. If nothing helps there must be some hardware problem so I recommend you to contact Toshiba service and ask for help.

Warranty is valid so there is no reason to be worried about it.

Neither do I, I was thinking maybe its something to do with the button that tells the screen if its closed or open. As for the warranty, I cant find a purchase receipt anywhere :(

Hello, unfortunately I had the same problem about an hour ago, and tried powering up unplugging and removing the battery and holding down the power button for about 30 second, putting battery back and power up, did not start, did the same again with ac power, did not start, did the same and trying both battery and the ac back, unfortunately no luck.
So, I don't know what it is all about. I bought the laptop last week from a friend, it is about 3 months old. however, I have no purchase receipt for warranty.
Does anyone have any idea about how this could be solved?

Hello, luckily it has turn on now, after trying the things I have mentioned before, and leaving it for a while. I exactly don't know what has happened and how has happened, but it is so frustrating.

Does this mean that the notebook can be booted properly?
    Did you fix that issue?

    *Update*
same here, I left the laptop alone for a couple of weeks and *when I returned today it booted up fine!*

I have no idea what caused this I'm jus relieved its resolved itself.
