    Hi I have a Satelite C650D.

We had a Hard drive crash and no recovery disks made. So I changed the harddrive and ordered Recovery media discs from Toshiba. Today I got 5 discs and thought I just put them in the DVD and let the pc boot up. No boot at all. I know the dvd is working as I tryed other discs ( XP and Linux ).

How should I get started with the recovery discs?

Start your notebook and press immediately F12 to enter boot menu.
When the boot menu is shown on the screen put recovery disc 1 into optical disc drive.
Choose CD/DVD device and press ENTER.
ODD should start to read recovery disc.

    Does it work?

    There is one more option:
When notebook starts with recovery disc placed in optical disc drive press C button several times at start-up. This should force optical disc drive to be first bootable device.

    Check it out.

Hi Thanks but as I can get the computer start with an other boot disc ( XP or Linux ) im doing right. But I cant get it booting with the recovery discs. Just says: No Bootable device insert boot disc and press any key.

The C Button says the same thing.

    Cheers Rickard

Did I understand this correctly? You can boot from Win XP and Linux disk but are not able to boot from the Recovery disk which you got from Arvato?

Well, it looks like the disks are not OK.
In such case I recommend contacting the disk supplier and asking for new disks.

Hi Pau Pau. You are probably right. I was looking through the cds and they all contain same files with the same size, date and time.
