    Hello people!

I bought this Toshiba Satellite L750-1MK (with Atheros AR9002WB-1NG Wireless Network Adapter) with pre-installed Windows 7 Home Premium and from the very beggining my wireless connection keeps going down for no apparent reason every few minutes for some seconds and I'm like 5% - 20% of time offline.
This is happening at home, at my parents' home and at work (different routers and router settings). My older notebook running at the same time has absolutely no problem.

My wireless adapter driver is up to date (9.2.0.419) and I switched off power saving functions (Power Saving Mode set on max performance, "turning off for saving power" is switched off)

I also installed Linux Ubuntu 11.10 and I'm not having any problem there but I have to use Windows for my work.

    Any advice?
    Thanks a lot!

    Hi,

I have exactly the same problem with my new "Satellite C660-1J2" laptop. The wireless adaptor driver is different on my model : Realtek RTL8188CE Wireless LAN 802.1.

I have another laptop which connects to the same network with no issues and remains connected. But the new Toshiba laptop keeps disconnecting. If I checked the connection with Connectivty Doctor, it suggests there is no connection issue, but yet you cannot connect to internet. The workaround is to disconnect from wireless network and re-connect.

    Any help/advice is much appreciated.

    Regards
    A

This means that this is a simple settings problem.

I assume you got this issue only using the notebook with battery power right?

People reported that this can be solved by disabling the power saving.
I think you tested this in Win 7 power management… but additional you have to do this in
    +device manager -> WLan card -> Properties -> Power Management (last tab)+

Here you have to remove the mark from the option “Allow disable this device to safe power”

I've these problems while I'm on battery or plugged in and yes, my "Allow disable this device to safe power" is turned off so this will not be solution in my case.

    Hi

In many cases the TCP/IP can sometimes become damaged or corrupted.
Check this Microsoft solution and check if this would help you to solve the WLan issue.

    Good luck

I was about to try that. The Driver is for the atheros AR9002WB-NG is a 9.2.0.206.

    I think the latest 9.2.0.413.

Do you think it will help

Did you test the WLan with different routers?
Try also with an “open WLan”. Disable the encryption settings (WEP or WPA) but only for testing purposes.

    Another idea:
Go to control panel -> network & sharing center -> Change adapter settings (on the left) -> WLan properties

Here uninstall the TCP/IPv6 and use only TCP/IPv4

    Hi gratw.

No I didn't solve my problem.
In fact since Feb 27th I had my L750 in computer hospital because of failed update of BIOS (2.70 -> 2.90). Today they finally returned it with brand new motherboard (the old one --2 months old-- didn't survive Toshiba recommended BIOS update).

Now that with new BIOS (they installed to for me) I have one more problem with laptop now -- display brightness doesn't work!
It has this two modes: "dark mode" (when brightness set around 40%) and "burn your eyes out mode" (everything else, including brightness set on 0%).

All my drivers are up to date and even downgrading didn't do the trick. Service station guy advised me to restore system (including formating my HDD) but no thanks I don't have nerves for this anymore.

    Oh dear.

I am using an older style plug in wreless adapter (with different driver). It a bit of a pain because it has to be plugged in all the time. But at least it can connect and doesn't drop out.

I am loath to update the bios now!
