I have a Satelite Pro L300 series running Windows Vista Business and am having problems with it shutting down by itself for no known reason, then it restarts only sometimes.

The startup repair does not do anything.

    Hi

I think it could be related to high temperature.

Did you notice a warm air coming from cooling grilles?

Usually the notebook shuts down automatically in order to prevent the hardware parts from damage.

So you should check if the cooling grilles are clogged by dust and debris… in most cases you can remove this using compressed air spray.

    Hi buddy,

Usually the notebook shuts down to protect the hardware because it’s overheating. This can be caused due dust as PauPau wrote and in such case you must clean your notebook with compressed air spray. This must be done every 3-4 months and it’s very easy procedure. Toshiba has released an article about this:

Do you use the preinstalled Vista version with all drivers from Toshiba or 3rd party drivers? 3rd party display drivers can also cause overheating…
