I cannot create a recovery disc using Toshiba image. DVDs are rejected as blank when they are empty. DVD R/W burns OK with Microsoft and Nero software. How do I get a fix for this problem? TIA garrym

Toshiba recovery disc can be created with preinstalled “Toshiba recovery media creator tool” ONLY.
So I don’t understand why you use Microsoft and Nero software.

Have you checked User’s manuals document and chapter about recovery media creation?

For recovery DVD creation I recommend you to use DVD-R empty medias only.

    Hi garrym,

I agree with Andrej. Toshiba recovery disk can be created with recovery disk creator only.

For creating these disks you should use high quality mediums like Verbatim or TDK. Furthermore I made good experience with DVD-R instead DVD+R.

I had no problem to create the 4 disks on my Satellite A660. Therefore I used Verbatim DVD-R. :)

    Hi Andrej
Problem seems to have been solved by download and installation of latest W7 updates. Don't know why. What is the difference between +R and -R? Why do you prefewr -R? Only mentioned other software to show burner was working OK.

    The difference is the format!
Different drives support different formats... sometimes different formats are not fully compatible...
If someone recommends usage of -R disks then this is only the case because someone has good experience with such format...
I recommend both but from TDK.... why?
Because I made good experience with such disks...
Other people could made a good experience with other disks... you know what i mean... ;)

However, it's great that you could solve the issue!
