Hi, I would like to get a new charger for Toshiba. My first charger got lost and the second charger that I bought from ebay 3 months ago for £10,- has stopped working. Where can I get a charger from? I googled and I found couple of wesbites e.g.

    http://www.electronicavenue.co.uk/toshiba-satellite-pro-l500-1d4-laptop-charger-6380-p.asp

Chargers cost around 25-30 GBP. I don't want anymore problems with a charger. I am already behind schedule...
Where can I get a good charger from or that is genuine. Any other suggestions are welcome

    Thank you in advance

The charger you found is OK and I think you don't need original Toshiba charger.
If you want to have Toshiba one the part number is PA3716E-1AC3.

Check it out. Googling around you will find it.

You can order all Toshiba notebook parts from local Toshiba ASP in your country.
They will provide an compatible part to you…

PS: I think its better to spend some more money for a original Toshiba AC adaptor as to use an cheap 3rd party no-name product which would die after some time of use…

Sorry I have been away to provide feedback to both your suggestions so here goes:

@Macius The part number is not PA3716E-1AC3 as you have stated, it is PA3714E-1AC3. Find underneath the link to correct part number and I would appreciate it if you you or anybody else could confirm this.

I really don’t know what to say. Fact is that Satellite Pro L500 and Satellite L500 are identical machines and power supply specification is the same. I have checked several specifications for L500 and found that AC adapter for all of them is with part number PA3716E-1AC3.

Following this I wrote to you. If you have other part number (PA3714E-1AC3) but clearly listed for your notebook model buy it.

Just a final question before I mark this closed. First of all, I thank you for your input and prompt response. If you are a technical adviser then I trust your expertise. What happened before this was that 3.42A adapter stopped working, it once blew(exaggerated) the resister in the power socket. If I buy 4.74 Amps(90W) adapter, will excessive current(I) affect the computer. I have a feeling the only reason previous adapter stopped working was because of lack of power...

    Battery: Model: PA3534U-1BRS
    DC10.8V --- 44Wh

    Cordially, bing
