    My L350 has suffered a disk problem and would not boot. It attempted an automatic recovery but failed. I have rebooted from the system recovery cd's I created when the laptop was first purchased but the recovery fails at image 5.

    Does anyone have any advice?

    Have you used these recovery discs in the past?
    If the discs are OK I can imagine there is some problem with HDD but Iím not 100% sure about that.

    Hi

    There are three possibilities:
    - the CDs malfunctions
    - CD/DVD drive cannot read the disk due to CD/DVD malfunction
    - HDD malfunctions (but this is very impossible in your case)

    Solution;
    - you can try to copy the recovery disk to another CD using second computer. Maybe the second CD would functions.
    - You can order new Recovery disks from Toshiba (30 Euros)
    - You can try to install Windows using Microsoft disks -> Toshiba drivers can be downloaded from driver page
