    Hello,

I have started using my nice new Satellite T110-12. How can I create a recovery disk?

Why there is a frequent message about vibration has been detected, hard drive head disk has been moved to a safe position? Is there something wrong? Should I return it before the week is up?

    Please answer, many many thanks!

    Hi LindaMon,

    > How can I create a recovery disk?
What about reading your user manual?
You need an 8GB USB stick for creating a recovery medium and preinstalled Toshiba recovery disk creator.

    > hard drive head disk has been moved to a safe position?
Yes, thatís normal and everything is ok with your notebook. Your HDD will be protected by HDD/SSD Alert utility that is a nice feature from Toshiba to avoid head crashes and can enhance the life of internal HDD.
But yoou can disable these notifications if you want. ;)

The user manual is preinstalled. There should be a shortcut on the desktop.
Otherwise download it from the Toshiba European page.

RIght, thanks. I found the manual within the laptop, but even there it seems that the only recovery disk options are: record a DVD (if you can) or an USB memory stick with at least 6.5Gb free...

I have an external portable hard disk and it does not seem able to create a recovery disk here.....why? Do I really have to buy a memory stick?????

    PLEASE HELP........THANKS!!!!!

    Hi buddy,

External HDD is not possible because itís not possible to boot from it as far as I know. Furthermore on recovery medium all data will be deleted before creating to make sure it will work properly.

So you have to buy an USB stick but I donít see a problem. 8GB USB sticks costs about 12-15 Euro, very cheap these days. ;)
