I was handed a Portege 2000 to take a look at. As soon as I turn it on I can see the Toshiba logo which immediately followed by a black screen that only says "password=".
I've tried searching for answers but have come up empty handed.

I am at a loss as to what to do new. I was hoping someone here could give me some insight as to where to go from here.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks.

    Hi

It looks like the notebook is locked by BIOS password.
You need the password in order to boot the unit.
If you donít know the password then you will need to get in contact with an local ASP (authorized service provider) technician which would be able to remove this unknown password.

    Good luck

    Hey,

I agree with the user above. If the notebook is locked by a password and you donít know it, you need help from an authorized service provider to delete it. They can delete all BIOS passwords.

The only password that canít be deleted is HDD password. Therefore the HDD must be exchanged.
