Jeka has posted good link where you can find all drivers for your notebook model.
There you can also find Conexant Audio Driver for Windows 7 (32/64)(v4.8.0.0; 09-04-2009; 3.16M)
This should be the right one.

    Thanks Jeka.

I have downloaded the sound driver and restarted my computer.

However, the problem is still showing the same - no sound card detected.

Is there anything else i need to do?

    thank you!

    Hi

    > However, the problem is still showing the same - no sound card detected.
Does this means that a yellow exclamation mark is visible near the sound controller in device manger?
You also should not be able to hear anything because of missing sound driver...
    Is this right?

Iím not quite sure why the sound card cannot be detected even if the sound card driver has been installed, but you should firstly update the Win 7 to the latest stateÖ.
Then you should install the Sound
Conexant Audio Driver for Windows 7 as stated above. Install also the Toshiba Speech System for Windows 7 (v1.00.2519) which is available on the US page too.

Donít forget the installation of TVAP Toshiba Value Added Package for Windows 7.

Itís also advisable to delete the sound card from device manager firstly and to reboot the notebook. After new reboot the Win 7 should recognize the sound card again and should reinstall the driver automatically.

    Hi, Paolo30,
    thanks for the tips.
In general the sound system works fine on the computer. I can listen to music and watch movies.
It's only when I tried to use skype to make phone calls, it shows no microphone/sound card detected and the other side couldn't hear me although i can hear them clearly.
i don't know how to fix this.

    Hi carrington1221,

Which version of Skype you are using? You should install the newest version of it and you can download it from Skype directly:

Try also installing Value Added Package as Paolo30 wrote and remove the sound card from device manager and reboot your notebook.

By the way, have you tested different headsets?

I think this has nothing to do with the sound driver mate.

I think the Skype has not been configured properlyÖ possibly you have to choose the right settings for Microphone in Skype settings!!!
Please also mark the option in Skype called: automatically sound configuration

    GREETS

    Hey,

Maybe you can ask in a Skype forum or somewhere else regarding this problem.

I also think itís related to Skype only so you need some Skype specialists they can give you more informations.

Otherwise check the sound options in Skype. There is also a microphone test that can help you configure everything properly. :)

Skype is not the problem. It works fine on our other Toshiba Satellite which is running Vista.

It was working fine on this (my) Toshiba Satellite too - until I changed from Microsoft XP to Windows 7.

Now Skype is 'unable to recognise sound card'. I am also unable to adjust the microphone volume setting as the left click and drag function on that button in Skype appears not to work with Windows 7 either. Even so I doubt that is the problem if Skype is unable to interface with the sound card in the first place.

Nothing has changed but the operating system.

Windows 7 is a lovely economical OS compared to Vista.

Lots of other forums show that many other people are having this same issue with Skype after changing to Windows Seven

Does anyone have a solution to this problem ? Have tried asking Skype and M$oft, but no joy (or replies either) from them, but I would be glad to be corrected on that score guys....

    Thanks in anticipation..... Ps

    Hey,

To be honest I also use Windows 7 on both notebooks I have and Skype to communicate with my friends but I canít notice any problems. I have even tried it and everything works properly.

I donít know which notebook you have exactly but check the Toshiba website for newest sound and webcam driver. Make sure that all Windows updates are installed and check Skype for an update.
    In my case it worked!!!
