    Hi

The notebook supports max 1GB RAM.
This means you can use max 2 x 512MB modules; 512MB module in each slot.

I assume 1GB RAM is not supported and therefore you cannot boot up the unit properly!

    Go back to 2 x 512MB

    hi,

It can be a bad memory module, slot or something else. Have you checked the another memory module in each slot?

    Hi wiiguy,

What happens if you put the additional memory module in the first slot where the original module was placed?

If it works, the memory module seems to be ok. If not, you should send the module back for a replacement part.

    Hi

I think it’s an compatibility issue between two modules…
Maybe you should use two modules which are 100% identical

    Hi buddy,

So if both modules work in every slot properly, it seems to be a compatibility issues between these modules. Which modules have you exactly and are they from the same manufacture?

    Can you test other modules?

    Hi wiiguy,

It seems to be a compatibility issue between the modules and your computer or the modules doesn’t work together.
I mean it seems that every slot works properly because the modules work in every slot. Furthermore if different modules work (256MB and 512MB) your notebook can handle two modules properly too.

If I buy new modules for my notebook I select Kingston modules. They make high quality products with good compatibility. Never had a problem with them.
    Check this!!
