    Hello.

I just bought a L550-10N and first thing I tried to do is to create recovery discs using Toshiba recovery disc creator.

Everything went well on the first disc creation (4 have to be created).
The problem starts with second disc: approximately when it is half burned, the gauge stops, the DVD drive continues running for hours and never stops.

I tried the process a second time, but it was exactly the same.

Would anyone have an idea how to solve this?

    Thanks!

    Hi

I noticed similar issue creating my recovery disk and this has been related to none fully compatible disks…
I checked different disk from different manufacturers and finally I have managed to create the recovery disk using the TDK –R disk…
Seems that there are different disk which are not supported but this seems to be different and it’s matter of the CD/DVD drive…

Anyway, I recommend testing some different DVDs

From my experience the best thing you can do is to create recovery media using DVD-R medias.
I have created it for several different notebook models using TDK or Verbatim DVD-R medias and every time everything went well.

My friends laptop did the same thing, it stopped half way (just before it started verifying the new data on the disc). We tried it with "Verify" Off, it still froze at 100% but the disc was fine.

What we did was manually ejected the disc, then closed the Disc Creator.

We tested the discs (ran recovery) and they worked! So the Recovery Disc Creator burnt all the Discs successfully, but simply froze after the 4th disc was burnt.
