    Hey,
I've just bought a brand new Toshiba NB200 netbook (10-Z).

When finished with the needed Win XP install, I installed the Windows 7 RC1, but the wifi is not working. The Fn+F8 Combination would start the wifi adapter, but the led in the outer side of the netbook is not blinking or anything, and system says, first I have to turn on the wifi, but I simply Can't, because the combination isn't working. I installed all the drivers, but still don't work.

Sorry for the bad english, i'm Hungarian.
    Thanks, B3N1

    Hi

Pressing the FN+F8 would enable following conditions:
    - Enable BT only
    - Enable WLan only
    - Enable 3G only (some models)
    - Enable all devices
    - Disable all devices

Maybe you have not enabled the WLan but just BT or 3G?
You have to press the FN+F8 several times in order to get the WLan enabled!

    Check it!

You need some special SW (included in the Toshiba Value Added Package) to get the HotKeys (FnF8) to work.
So far, this utility (and other SW) is not released for Windows 7 and will not be released before Windows 7 is launched official.
(MS can still change things until the final releases)

Toshiba US has released a Value Added Package download for Windows 7 (get the 32bit) for the NB205 that adds all of the FN Key functions...

I'm experiencing similar problems with the official Windows 7 RTM release (Not a hookie version) and there appears to be two versions of the value add tools:

TCO169300B This appears to install correctly but none of the function keys work.
TC00169400B This does install and if you try to manuakky install, eg extra files and run the setup it states either incorrect operating system or CPU not supported.

This is the 32 bit version, you need to disable Flash Cards and now most of the FN keys work, but not the Wireless/Bluetooth F8 combo... that is a bummer really. I hope Toshiba will release Win7 RTM drivers soon

This is the 64 bit one...it shouldn't install

I installed seven directly, without even booting on the windows xp config shipped with the laptop
the wireless was off, there was no way to enable it, even after following all the advises before.

I had to reinstall XP on a second partition from the restore disc, and then the wireless was enabled, either on windows xp or seven... (but you could do the same thing from a standard xp install, you'll just have to install all the drivers)
Altough I cannot switch the wireless off with the fn+f8 combo (or i can go to the xp partition, switch it off, and go back to seven... lol)

I know seven was not officially supported and blah blah blah but it was really REALLY annoying, it was the first (and I hope the last) disappointment with the nb200. (PLL20C-00200C, canadian model)
