    Hi,

I've just bought a second hand Tecra 9100 with a 40gb hard drive (not received it yet it's in transit).
I'd like to swap out the hard drive and put a bigger one in but was wondering.

What is the biggest drive the BIOS will support ?

    Thanks

    Hi

This forum contains a lot of threads regarding the similar questions.
Why you don’t use the search option and search for similar threads?

    I found these threads:

Here in this thread someone upgraded the HDD to 80GB

Thanks, yes I did a search but struggled to find anything specific on size. Has anyone tried a 120gb ?

    Thanks

    Hello

According the specification notebook supports up to 60 GB HDD. I have 60 GB in my old Tecra 9100.
Unfortunately I cannot obtain bigger IDE HDD but I believe Tecra can handle with higher capacity HDDs too but to be honest for this “oldie” 60 GB HDD is quite enough.
    Do you agree with me?

I had a spare 80gb drive. I've put that in and it's working fine. Up and running with Ubuntu Linux 9.04

Considering the laptop came with only 60GB, its probably limited to 137GB due to the LBA48 limitation.

In other words, the max size is likely to be 120GB
