Browsing Startup I see the following which was there when I bought this L300-1G6 in John Lewis.

    C:\Program Files\Jumpstart\jswtrayutil.exe

    Manufacturer--: Unknown

I believe it's something to do with wireless although everything on Google seems a bit vague.

    Any idea if it's safe.

    Cheers,
    Anthony

    Hi

The jswtrayutil.exe (Jumpstart tray utility) file is placed in the “Jumpstart” folder…
SO it’s belongs to the Jumpstart…..

I don’t know what Jumpstart is but it’s possibly one of the programs which is provided with your Toshiba notebook and I think its safe…

I have googled a little bit too and found out that there are also some Jump Start Screen Saver… maybe the jswtrayutil.exe belongs to such screen saver ?:|

Cheers Jaba, I agree it's probably OK, but you would have thought that since Toshiba decided to add Jumpstart\jswtrayutil
to Startup by default, they would at least have explained it's function somewhere.

I doubt you will find an explanation somewhere in the user manual because it’s a additional software like for example some products from Microsoft as well... Such details about different additional applications are not placed in the user manuals…
I think one fact is that the additional software and applications change always…

I did uncheck in Startup and it didn't have any apparent effect. Decided to give it a couple of days and then turn it on again.
I just find it interesting to find what everything does. Computers, just fantastic.

    Thanks again for reply.
