    Hi!

    I want to reset startup password on old laptop Toshiba Portege 2000.
    ( power on and write Password= )

    Password can be removed by Toshiba authorized service provider.
    The technique for password removing is not the same for all notebook models.
    You cannot remove it alone.

    I agree with the user above; the BIOS password can be removed only by Toshiba ASP in your country!!!

    This is a kind of security which can be removed only if you are a real owner of this notebook.

    Therefore you have to contact the ASP to get rid of this password

    but it is very difficult

    1. nearest service center - 2000 km (in Moscow).
    2. in the service center have money for reseting password. me it is easier and cheap to recycle, becose he crash display.
    3. I'm real owner if i bay notebook on the e-bay with install password? How can I prove that I am the real owner? If notebook have dark past I am ready to return it.

    The point is that notebooks can be purloined very easily and therefore the BISO password cannot be removed for example like on the desktop PC’s
    Therefore you need a ASP help….
