    Do you have the Wireless LAN Switch turned on at the front or side of the laptop?

    Which Wireless LAN Adapter does it have? Is it Intel? Realtel? Atheros?

    Go to Start -> Control Panel -> System -> Device Manager.
    Right-Click on the Unknown Device, and select "Properties".
    Go to the "Details" Tab, select "Hardware Ids" in the dropdown list.

    You will see something like PCI\VEN_????
    The VEN_ number is the Vendor/Manufacturer. For example:

    8086 = Intel
    10EC = Realtek
    168C = Atheros

    The WLAN card is from Intel!!!! and not from Realtek

    So visit the Toshiba WLan portal and install the Intel PRO/Wireless 3945/4965/5100/5300 WLan driver!
