    Model SP10 - 804

How do I disable the Hibernation feature ?

The box 'Enable Hibernation' is ticked and greyed so I cannot untick it !
I don't use this feature and would like to delete the file hiberfil.sys which is over 1GB.

I understand that by disabling Hibernation this file should delete. I read about it here:
    http://www.softwarepatch.com/tips/hiberfil-sys-xp.html

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi

I presume the Toshiba Power saver utility was installed on your system.
In such case the Windows own power options are disabled and the TPS controls the hibernation and standby mode.

You can switch back to the window power mode in the control panel -> power options.
There you have to choose to another power scheme as the Toshiba power saver.
Otherwise you can remove the TPS from the system!

However, in my opinion the hiberfil.sys has no bad influence on the system and it's really not necessary to delete this file.
On my system the file size was never ever 1GB.

I tried that though, after about 1/2 a second the chance to select greys out and I cannot chnage it. Is there another way ?

Maybe some registries entries are damage or overwritten by the Toshiba Power saver and therefore the hibernation cannot be enabled.
Probably the OS must be refreshed and the Toshiba Power saver should be not installed to enable the hibernation and to delete this file.

But I agree with Jaba. What you do is simply not necessary and will not improve the notebook performance!

    Hello

I use ‘Tune up utility’ and using this tool you can disable hibernate option and use all 1 GB memory space. If you want you can test it too.
Google a little bit around. You will find many interesting tools for doing this.
