    Hi

    I have upgraded my M400 to Vista and now it seems I have a problem with the driver for my DVD drive.

    I don't see a vista driver for the DVD drive.

    Any ideas?

    Steve

    Vista uses the own Microsoft driver and you don’t need any special drivers to get the CD/DVD drive working.

    OK ... so any idea why Vista would say that the driver is invalid?

    Possibly because of the registry problem…

    Try this;
    Enter the device manager and remove the drive from the system.
    Then reboot the notebook. The Vista OS should initial and install the new device (CD/DVD drive) again.
    Then go to the registry and remove the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters values completely from the following registry key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

    Then reboot the notebook again.

    Hopefully it helps!
