My new laptop has a 120gb harddrive. It came partitioned as 2 drives. My question is that the C drive has only 2gb of software on it yet it is showing 18GB used and only 37 gb free. Can someone tell me why it does not show 2GB and 55GB free.

    Hi

I donít believe that!!! Fact is that you unit was delivered with Vista or I am wrong???
I have installed Vista on my notebook and the Vista installation needs about 17 Ė 18 GB on the HDD. So why you suggest there are only 2GB???

You said 37GB are free on the HDD. For me itís ok. 55GB Ė 18GB = 37GB
    Whatís the problem???

    Hi
you are right it did come with vista on it. When I posted the first message I added up what was in the folders but I missed out the windows folder which shows 8GB. If you are right about how much vista takes then I assume some of it must be hidden. Thank you for your help
