Display Portege M400 on TV?

Hi there,
I have a regular portege M400, and I want to display on a tv. I have bought a simple vga to svideo cable on ebay... what am I missing? The video card seams to be able to do that option...

normally you only have to switch to the external device with Fn+F5.

The unit sends the right signal on right port. It is possible you need really high quality adaptor. I didn’t try to use this kind of adaptors because my notebook has S-Video out port but on your Portege this port is not available.

Please check also all settings on your TV. It is also possible you must enable S-Video port on the TV.
