    Hi all,
I have been searching for almost a week now for the answer to this so i really hope some one can help me.
Im not an expert when it comes to stuff like this but i have tried everything ive found. As the title says i need to get rid of the toshiba stack (i think ive just achieved that at last) and replace it with the MS bluetooth stack (where im now stuck).
How do I get the MS stack to recognise the hardware? Its telling me there are no drivers for it.

    Im running:
    Toshiba M400 Portege
    2GB ram
MS windows XP Tablet edition 2005 version 2002
    SP2

P.S ill probably need an idiots guide to this!

    Many thanks
    Jon

Update, I may be wrong but it looks like MS doesnt support the built in bluetooth card.
I borrowed someones generic bt dongle last nite and all works great.
I would still appreciate it if any one out there could just tell me if im right or not abotu MS not supporting the standard card in the m400.

    Cheers Jon.

    Hi Silas
Cheers for the response but I have followed that post to the letter numerouse times, that and everything else i have found, nothing seems to work, so now I am guessing that the inbuilt card is not MS compliant/generic.
I think I have read everything that google could throw at me and this site over the last week.
Its always my last resort to actually ask for help.

    (search first ask later)

    Cheers Jon

What is your problem with the current BT-stack on your notebook and which version are you using?

Hi, The current toshiba stack is the latest one on download from the toshiba site. Sorry I didnt mention this before but the toshiba stack etc works fine in general, except with the one program (sitemaster pro) doesnt run with the toshiba stack, after talking to "powercads" support on and off for a almost a week!
I understand this is not a toshiba problem, really its a powercad problem, unfortunately i cant re-write the cad program so i opted for what appeard to be the fairly easy route of removing toshiba and letting microsoft load it!

    Cheers Jon

So I guess you intend to connect a kind of laser-measurement-system via Bluetooth serial COM port. Is this correct ?

    Yes a leica disto plus.
This worked fine with the toshiba drivers.
Like i say its just to make powercad compatible with it.

(using the dongle it all works great, but if im not careful im going to break it off! Hence the built in choice.)

    Cheers Jon

I have been informed by the company that make powercad that the program was made to support microsoft and widcomm stacks in general, I was unaware of this when I purchased the toshiba, with built in bluetooth. I have since removed the toshiba stack (now powercad will run)and used a USB dongle which microsoft picked up fine and run powercad fine.
I have tried that link several times to make the built in card to work to no avail, and I was wondering if anyone had any other ideas on how to make the built in bluetooth card use microsoft stack or if its even possible at all on this machine.

    Cheers.

I have check the website. So you have the same BT module like my Libretto U100. The latest BT module available currently in the market (Bluetooth v2.0 EDR). I could use the MS-stack also with it. So it should work also for you. Maybe you have an old BT monitor software, which does not support the lastest BT hardware. Install it until MS-stack is active and remove BT Monitor again after it. Don't forget to remove the Toshiba BT-stack before.

    Good News:

I have contacted the SiteMaster hotline and got the following answer:
PowerCAD SiteMaster 2 supports already the Toshiba Stack. This was the
first version, which was sold in bigger amounts.
(We are currently releasing version 3.003).

    :-)
