As usual rushed in and installed Windows 8 on satellite P300. What a mistake - slow, loss of functionality. How do I get back to Vista which was pre-installed or is there some way I can fix it to run windows 8.
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU P8600@2.4GHz 2.4GHz, RAM 4.00GB (2.99 usable) System 32 bit, x64- based processor.

Satellite P300 is older notebook delivered with Vista but also supported for Win7. Unfortunately it is not supported for Win8 so, in my opinion, there is no sense to install Win8 on it.

Win7 runs perfectly on this machine so if possible use Win7 on it. in case you want to use original Vista you must install recovery image using recovery DVD. That’s only way to have “factory settings” again.

The question is: do you have this recovery disc?

In case you have created an Toshiba recovery disk in the past, you could use this disk in order to reinstall the Vista system.

Otherwise you will need a Microsoft Vista disk for the new OS installation.
Essential drivers could be downloaded from the Toshiba EU driver page.
