I downloaded windows 8 on my partner's Toshiba Satellite L650 laptop and now the wireless connection doesn't work.
All other devices get wireless connection but the Toshiba doesn't now after the upgrade.

I've read somewhere that it may need new drivers or something like that, but i'm not tech savvy and wouldn't know where to start.

Can anyone help? I'm using another laptop to post this as there's no connection on the Toshiba.

Thanks

At first can you please post exact notebook model number (L650-xxx)?
I want to check which WLAN card is inside.

Open device manager and check the WLAN card status. Please post some feedback about these basic information.

Hey Guys,

Thanks for your help. The solution? to stick a USB wifi in to the laptop to bypass the bad connection.

Well, the Wlan needs to be enabled before using it.
So be sure the Wlan was enabled in Win 8 settings…

By the way: the Broadcom 802.11n network adapter seems to be recognized in device manager… so driver is not needed anymore.

It seemed the problem was with between the windows 8 and the wireless 4g modem. I bypassed by using a USB wifi adapter and the problem was fixed.
