Hello,

I've recently formatted and installed Windows XP Professional on a Toshiba Satellite Pro A40.
But I can't figure out how to enable Wifi on the machine.

When I press FN+F8, nothing happens. All the drivers are installed correctly, no errors are shown at device manager in Windows. Do I need to install special drivers, like I did for using the others FN keys (I needed to install Common Modules)?

I've also got a PCMCIA card (Linksys Wireless-G WPC54G). When I put the card into the notebook, the power led blinks one time, but also nothing happens. Is this card not compatible with this notebook?

Please can you give me some advice?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Rien

Go into Device Manager - do you see any unresolved devices?

Hey Rien,

Is the WLAN card listed properly in device manager? Or can you see yellow exclamation marks or unknown devices?

Maybe you should try to update the WLAN driver. On the Toshiba website you can find the newest version.

You should also tell us what happens if you search for your WLAN router. Is the WLAN connection listed in network connections?
