I cannot install the os from boot, for a clean install, the cd boots and seems to start the setup, loadind the start up drivers etc.
Then before you get to the main 'do you want to install windows page, an error message appears saying me HDD is corrupt or has a virus????

Any ideas?

I can't really help, but I'm seeing the same problem :( I've tried XP, 2000 and server 2003 install CDs. Either I get the same message that you've seen, or the installer blue-screens.

I saw it suggested elsewhere to change the SATA mode in the BIOS from AHCI to Compatibility, but that doesn't help either.

I must admit, it feels like the Windows installer is having problems seeing the hard disk, but I don't know what to do about it. Install a different disk drive, perhaps?

I just found this article on MSDN - it seems you have to delete the Linux partitions before booting from the XP CD.
