View Full Version : Sound driver does not work on Satellite U400-112 with Vista Buss 64-bit

Hi there,

I've installed Win Vista Buss. 64-bit on my Toshiba Satellite U400-112 but the original driver for sound at Toshiba's site doesn't work properly honestly doesn't work at all. The only driver that works is Win. Vista's driver but when I plugged in headphones sound still comes form speakers but there's no sound in headphones.

Can somebody help me, please?

I have a Satellite U400 with Windows Vista 64bit too and I used the driver on the Toshiba website (Conexant
It runs without problems, I can hear sound with the speakers and headphones.

Maybe you have an old BIOS. After installing Windows Vista I made a BIOS update so try this too.
The BIOS you will also find on the Toshiba website.

I've tried to use this [bios update|http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_driver_details.jsp?service=EU&selCategory=2&selFamily=2&selSeries=198&selProduct=776&selShortMod=686&language=13&selOS=27&selType=all&yearupload=&monthupload=&dayupload=&useDate=null&mode=allMachines&search=&action=search&macId=&country=all&selectedLanguage=13&type=all&page=1&ID=63150&OSID=-1&driverLanguage=42] but I've got [error code:1275|http://img229.imageshack.us/img229/6055/12128057ix7.png] despite the fact I ran it as administrator.

so I finally did it. I realized that I was using sound driver Conexant (which was offered to me as sound driver for Windows Vista 64bit U400-112) and I noticed that you used Conexant so I tried to find and install it and it works :)

Itís nice to read that you solved the problem. :)

Did you also make the BIOS update or only driver update?
About the BIOS update problem I can say that you should start the program as Administrator (right mouse click => Run as administrator).

I did but still the same error so I was only capable of updating sound driver.
