Hi,

I have just install win 2000 pro on an old Tecra 8200.

The "LAN manager client" says I am connected on Wi-Fi access point but windows icon indicate that's the wire is disconnected.
Is there somebody knows how to solve this problem?

Thanks.

PS: I get the last software and driver on Toshiba web site and the wifi on/off switch is ON.

Wait a moment: can you use WLAN or not? Are you just irritated because of this windows icon or what?

The problem is that the toshiba application that called "lan client manager" say I am connected to a Wifi NetWork.

But Win 2000 say there is a disconected wire AND I haven't any IP adress to work fine.

If I launch IPCONFIG /ALL command I have the following result:

Configuration IP de Windows 2000

Suffixe DNS principal . . . . . . :
Type de noud. . . . . . . . . . . : Diffuser
Routage IP activ . . . . . . . . : Non
Proxy WINS activ . . . . . . . . : Non

Ethernet carte WiFi*:

Description . . . . . . . . . . . : Toshiba Wireless LAN Mini PCI Card
Adresse physique. . . . . . . . . : 00-02-2D-24-E4-9F

Is there anybody with the same problem ?

Thanks

Hi

As far as I know Windows 2000 does not support own Client software for Wireless LAN.
Therefore you have to use external tools like Toshiba application.

In your case it could be a W2k issue.
Did you install all service packs?

There are 4 SP and you have to install all.
Please check also if some Microsoft patches are needed.
You could search in the MS knowledge base for the fixes…
