View Full Version : Unidentified devices in Satellite U300

I have a Satellite U300-13j (PSU30E). Recently I installed Windows XP without wiping out the Windows Vista. Now Vista is working properly without any crisis and I'm facing some problems in Win XP.

1. I'??m unable to hear the sound even though the sound drivers are properly installed.
2. My web cam is not working as I couldn'??t find the proper driver for it.
3. Still I'm seeing some unknown devices by my Device Manager. Those are in the below order

Base System Device
Base System Device
Base System Device
Chicony USB 2.0 Camera
PCI Device
PCI Device
SM Bus Controller

I searched for the drivers in Toshiba web?? but without any results.
Please help me to get rid of these problems

Thanks in advance.

Have you installed all stuff offered on Toshiba support page under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com ?

Please note that one entry in device manager will stay if you install all drivers. Detailed description you can find under http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB83023N0000R01.htm

Yes, look at that list and determine what you have not installed yet.

From the looks of it, you haven't installed the Intel Chipset driver.

And that chicony device is the webcam, I think I saw this driver in the Satellite A200 drivers section at http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp
