View Full Version : Satellite L40-17r: Need driver for DVD Rom for Linux Fedora Core 7

I am having problem in instalation.
When the setup asks to select location for the package contents ie the cd-dvd drive and is selected then it pass message to select the driver for that drive or select from given disk.

I dont have the driver and i am using Toshibe Sat L40-17r laptop what should i do.

Anyone????

The problem is that Toshiba doesn’t support any drivers for any Linux OS distributions and therefore you cannot find it on the Toshiba page.

also , i am looking for a sound driver for Centos (linux)
how can i have sound on my laptop {toshiba equium l 40 }?

Hi no1_fille,

As Jack Black wrot ethe problem is that Toshiba doesn’t support any drivers for Linux. Therefore you have to search yourself for drivers.

You should ask in Linux or Centos Forum. Usually there you can find specialists for these operating systems and I assume they can help you. :)

In Linux you do not have to install third-party drivers. There are some extreme cases where you might
have a case to do so but generally no.

For the case of sound support, you need to show details of your hardware so that it's possible to help you out.
