I am trying to install win 2000 pro on the following laptop - Satellite 4030 - I insert the CD and hold down the "C" key to boot from CD the Windows 2000 setup screen appears and begins to install the drivers. The setup gets so far then the following message appears on the screen:
*** STOP: 0x000000A5,0x814884DC,0x00000000,0x00000000)
The ACPI BIOS in this system is not fully complient with the ACPI specification. Please view the read me text for possible work arounds. You can also contact your systems manufacturer for an updated BIOS.

So do I have to flash the BIOS with the latest version or is there some way I can work round this ? I have done a few things with PC's (Built a few etc etc) BUT I have never attempted to flash BIOS before and I have heard it can go very wrong! Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Hi Marc,

If you make BIOS update it is always good. The latest one you can find on http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com under Support & Downloads Download BIOS.

It is zip file and there is also text document that contains BIOS update procedure. Follow this description and you can do it successfully.
