I have recently purchases an A100 running Vista.

Everytime to I try and shut it down, using the proper procedure - it has the "shutting down" splash screen, and stays like so, for over 3 hours.

I then have to resort to holding down the power button.

Why is it doing this, and what can I do to solve it?

Many thanks,
Tom

Hi

Several weeks ago something similar happened to me.
The notebook ran slowly and the notebook didnā??t shut down.

I realized that the operating system have installed MS updates which were not finished.
After 2-3 hours the notebook was ready and everything worked perfectly.

Take a look here:
http://update.microsoft.com/microsoftupdate/v6/default.aspx?ln=en-us

This is a MS page which checks you OS if the latest updates were installed.
It could take several minutes and maybe you will need to restart several times and run the check again to get further updates!
