Tecra 9100 blue screen when unplugging power pack

hi people,

im having a major problem, ive got a major problem with my tecra 9100, when i unplug the power cable and try to use the laptop on the battery, the blue screen comes up saying NMI: Channel Check / IOCHK

then the computer shuts down, it will only restart properley if i have the ext power plugged in,
also something to note, when i first unplug it, it doesnt go str8 off, its only when i try to use the laptop, i.e. pressing a key

if anybody knows anything about this could you please let me know
