Does anyone know if I can change the slimbay on my portege 4010 to a CD-R, or ideally a DVD-R?
If so what are the best places to get these?
(I live in the UK)

Thanks for any suggestions,

Ian

Hello

I have found info that this Portege is delivered with two drives. The drives are:
Toshiba (SD-C2502) and TEAC (DV28E-B).

I really donít know if any DVD-R/RW drive is compatible but you can contact service partner in your country and ask them. Usually they make hardware upgrade and should have enough experience.

Other way, try to find some notebook upgrade shop in your country.

Hi

Possibly you know that not all drives are compatible because of the master /slave / c-sel settings.
As far as I know these drives should be compatible:

DVD-ROM TEAC DV-28E-B
DVD-ROM Drive Toshiba SD-C2502
CD-R/RW Drive Matsu****a UJDA340
CD-R/RW Drive TEAC CD-W28E
Multi Drive Matsu****a UJDA710

I hope I could help.
