I have a client who has brought there laptop in, the drivers are corrupt or missing for the DVD drive.
Tried deleting and reinstalling but it cannot find the drivers. Tried on the toshiba website, even Microsoft and none are listed.

Any ideas where I can get them from?

Thanks

Shaun

Hi

What is exactly wrong with your drive?
The Windows OS is not able to recognize the drive?
Did you check the device manager? What drive status appears in the device manager?

You should know that every drive uses the Windows own drivers.
This means that you donít need any additional drivers for properly working of the CD/DVD drive.

Did you use the Toshiba recovery CD?

Device Manager has a yellow exclamation mark over it. It says

Windows cannot load the device driver this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing (Code 39). Have tried unintalling and reinstalling it, still has the same problem.

Because windows cannot get the driver to load it cannot report it to the OS as a drive letter.
