hi my son got a tecra 8100 that has win 98 installed but it needs a clean install i dont have a restore disk but i got win98 cd but i cant install it becouse i have a usb floopy drive and the laptop wont boot from it is there a way to boot the laptop from usb floopy so i can run the windows 98 start up disk. meny thanks

As far as I know this unit has a own CD drive. Why don’t you boot from the CD?
On the Toshiba driver page you will find a companion diskette for Win98 and Win98se.

Try to keep down “U” button while booting up process.

If you have access to a PC with a CD burner, then suggest you create a bootable CD.
Drawback to this approach is you'll need Nero Burning ROM or similar to enable a donor boot image to be compiled into a bootable CD. I've used this method to good effect to create a CD capable of being booted from an external PCMCIA CD/DVD drive.
