How can one tell which Toshiba laptops have WPA wireless security available in accordance with the certification at "https://certifications.wi-fi.org/wbcs_certified_products.php"?

Toshiba are unable to supply any information on any particular model without a serial number. I am considering a purchase, but I need the WPA information first.

Hi

The WPA encryption depends on the WLan card. If you want to buy one, so you have to check if this notebooks has a Wlan card.
But how should I know which card was installed in the notebook without to know the detailed name of the Toshiba notebook.

The best way is to google for more information in the web.

Thanks for this. I gather that there is no list anywhere which has information on which WLAN card is used in which laptop.

The two Satellite Pro models I am currently considering are L20: PSL25E-00K00CEN, and A100: PSAA3E-001001EN.

Does this help at all?

Hi

The Satellite Pro L20 uses a Intel 2200 BG WLan card and the Satellite Pro A100 uses a Atheros AR5005G WLan card

Intel 2200 BG Wlan supports WPA and WPA2 encryption
http://support.intel.com/support/wireless/wlan/pro2200bg/

Atheros AR5005G WLan card supports also WPA and WPA2.

Thank you Markus77. This is the information I need. If you can provide this, why can the Toshiba UK help line not do so?

Thanks again.
