Hi

if I work only with my accu I get the message:
Hardware Malfunction
Call your hardware vendor for support
NMI:Channel Check/IOCHK
The support has halted

Last week I change the accu but the problem is still on.

According to this Microsoft article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/222973/en-us there is some hardware problem. In my opinion you will not be able to save it alone. Contact the service partner in your country and let them check the unit. If this persists with new battery too I presume that there is some problem with power electronic on the mainboard.

Does this message occur just if the notebook runs on battery power supply or in some other cases too?

I also have the same problem recently and still haven't found any solutions.
If my Tecra was charged. it works perfectly normal.
but if it works on battery/accu, the blue screen displaying "Hardware Malfunction.." appears.
I bought my Tecra 9100 about 3 years ago from my friend.
but it was perfectly normal then until recently.
so please anyone from Toshiba..please help...

Like Pedro said if there is a hardware malfunction so you should contact the Toshiba service partner in your country.
