View Full Version : Satellite Pro A60 - confused about RAM upgrade

hi there..
I've upgraded the RAM of my PSA65E-01201SEN from 256 MB to 1.2 GB (1GB more). Now I'd like to increase 1 GB more. Apparently, in the technical specs it says:
Expansion 1 x memory slot
System memory standard : 256 MB
maximum expandability : 2,048 MB
data bus width : 64 bit
technology : DDR RAM
expansion module sizes : 128, 256, 512, 1,024 MB

I'm a little bit confused:
1) Does the maximum expandability of 2 GB include the "system memory" of 256 MB?
2) If the top expansion module size is 1GB, how the heck am I going to reach 2GB given that I have just 1 memory slot????

help is very welcome!!
thanx in advance!

Hi Luis,

From what I have been able to find out the A60 series is supplied with 1 X onboard RAM module (256Mb) and one expansion slot which can take a maximum of 1Gb RAM thus giving a maximum RAM capacity of 1.25Gb.

I have checked this on a few non-Toshiba web sites as well and they all list the same details.

I believe the 2048 Mb that you quote may well be an error in the specification list. As you rightly say it would not be possible to reach this value with only one expansion slot available.
