Hello there,
we have just purchased this tv.
We have plugged everything in and it all works well apart from our surround sound system.
Our DVD player is also our sound system.
The dvd works if we select it to.
But we would like the sound system to work no matter what we are watching.
Can anyone please give advice as to how we can achieve this?
Thank You!

Hi. Itís a Panasonic and plugged into HDMI3.
A blue wire is also part of the sound system, but it doesnít work in Audio socket, so my husband has plugged it into the sky box.
It does work, as it was perfect with our old Philips TV.

Thank You!

You can do a test with this cable to make sure the cable and the ports are working fine. If you get the lead and plug it into the TV can you see the red light from the other end of the cable. Try this with the other device and check for the red light. If you see this light in both of the devices then the lead and all ports are fine. If you cannot see any light from any device then the lead is faulty. If you can see the light from only one device then that device has a faulty port.

If you give this a try and let us know the results.

Hi. Thanks for that.
Checked... we have the red light through both!
The only socket it can fit in on TV is SPDIF, is this right?
But they’re not talking to one another!

Yes this would be correct I believe. Do you have another device you can try with the speaker and optical cable? Also in the settings under more, the setting for speakers should be able to set to Amplifier - see if this works too :)

Omg!! I didn’t know there was such an option, but it worked...... thank you so much!
I can’t believe it was only down to choosing an option lol.

Thank you and regards
Helen and a happy Garry!!!!!
