NMI: CHANNEL CHECK / IOCHK message

When booting up my laptop, a TECRA T9000 I had problems with the message .... ** Hardware Malfunction** NMI:CHANNEL CHECK/IOCHK This system has halted **

I have had the hard drive changed and yet I have had this message once again, it will start up eventually as it has for me to write this but if you can help me identify the problem please!!!

Hi

Windows can display only basic error messages when hardware malfunctions occur, troubleshooting can be difficult. Most equipment problems center around the motherboard, the RAM on a motherboard or on an adapter, or the cache memory on a motherboard or on an adapter.
Well, it would be very interesting to know which hardware you changed. Furthermore itís possible that you have upgraded the unit with the not compatible device.

Thank you both for your help :)
The bit that was replaced was a 10gb hard drive! Unfortunately the laptop didnt like anything bigger than the 10gb!

Will now get on the case of the RAM! :)

Bye
